Some pubs just have that neighbourhood feel. It could be a roaring fire or the buzz of the crowd or friendly staff. Somehow, the Anglesea Arms in Hammersmith achieves this in a stupendous manner.
On a recent visit for Saturday lunch, the place was filled with young families and couples enjoying a pint or two and an atmospheric lunch. The Anglesea Arms has a pub bar area in the front and a small dining area in the back. They offer a reasonably priced food and wine menu with the daily menu scrolled on a blackboard.
We started with Prawns with Rose-Marie sauce.
I had Spaghetti with Pheasant Ragu and my husband had Dressed Crab on Toast with Apples and Fennel.
We chose several wines by the glass as there was a reasonable selection. All paired nicely with our food choices.
Though we might not go here as a destination again, if in the area for something, we would definitely go for a drink or a meal.
